CRP Collaborative
The CRP Collaborative is a project offered to LAPS PSO member hospitals seeking to optimize organizational response to patient harm events with the goals of supporting patients and family in the aftermath of such events, learning from the event to improve the safety of patient care, and providing rapid and effective care for the caregivers.
The intent of the CRP Collaborative is to familiarize hospitals with the early disclosure process, guide hospitals through the various elements of the CRP process, and provide the tools needed for effective implementation and ongoing improvement of a CRP at their facility.
COLLABORATIVE OBJECTIVES & ACTIVITES:
- To assist hospitals on this journey, the collaborative will offer education, resources, and expertise to help hospital teams develop, refine, and apply a CRP algorithm, policies, and principles to create a culture of learning that sustainably reduces risk, improves patient safety, and supports workforce well-being.
- Participants will take part in a seven-part webinar series throughout the year that will focus on the core components of implementing a CRP.
- Tentative Dates: June 20, July 18, Aug. 15, Sept. 19, Oct. 17, Nov. 21, and Dec. 12;
- All calls will be held at 12:00 p.m. CT.
- Conduct a CRP gap analysis to identify areas of opportunity;
- Develop and define processes to identify medical injury events and trigger responses, investigation and analysis;
- Develop a program to “Care for the Clinical Caregiver” (Second Victim); and
- Explore options for optimal resolution.
